As you negotiate and contract for services with your vendors for the upcoming year, the quantities and rates for each service type are stored by SPC as separate line items within the contract. As Case Managers, with instant and secure access to your own client data, you authorize services for each client's individual services against contracts. Recording time and notes of your client contacts is made easier and faster with Visual WISSIS. In a few simple steps, pick the client's SPC, log your time, and list your notes in the Windows-based form complete with spell-checker and other Windows features such as cut & paste. When processing transactions, whether purchase invoices, case management contacts, receipts, or home care pay, the system links related data to each item, updates the authorization and the contract, set up the voucher or deposit for processing, and prepares the accounting journal entry for the General Ledger.

Transactions are batched and processed into the General Ledger automatically. Visual WISSIS contains a full double entry General Ledger accounting system with a full complement of accounting reports, journals, general ledger retrievals, trial balance, and various types of queries. Audit trail integrity is maintained by linking the batch entries back to detail transactions.

Track Transactions by multiple periods...

Transactions may be entered into upcoming fiscal periods even while the current period is being completed. This is under complete control of the fiscal staff. Because transactions are also logged by service period, reports can be generated by fiscal or service period, depending on need, such as HSRS Units/Costs, CARS, 942/943, and many other reports for use locally.

Automatic data capture of HSRS entry...

With integration Visual WISSIS and HSRS, the State Human Services Reporting System, data entered into HSRS is automatically captured into Visual WISSIS. This enables clients-specific transactions to be automatically linked with HSRS Client SPCs and the related data. The benefit is elimination of duplicate entry and increased ease of use and accuracy in reporting.

Visual WISSIS is a shared, agency-wide information system. As such, it may be necessary to screen sensitive information so that only those people with a need-to-know are able to access it. Visual WISSIS provides a County-definable security management system which permits each county to determine which people should be able to access certain data for updating, for "view only", or not at all.
